International Cat
Care (formerly Feline Advisory
Bureau)
The Feline Advisory
Bureau (FAB) is a charity dedicated to promoting the health and welfare
of cats through improved feline knowledge, to help us all care better
for our cats. Find out more about them at

The FAB Listed Boarding
Cattery Scheme has now ended but we still run to their standards.
The scheme operated a list of high quality boarding catteries. FAB invited boarding catteries to apply for inclusion on the list.
To qualify, catteries had to comply with the FAB Standard for Construction
and Management of Boarding Catteries and as set out in the FAB Boarding
Cattery Manual. The Standard and Manual aim to ensure a safe
environment and quality care for boarded cats, and to minimise the risk
of the spread of disease.
The aim of the scheme
was to:
-
raise standards of
construction and care in boarding catteries
-
raise awareness of
good standards of boarding amongst the public
-
provide information
for cat owners on how to find a good boarding cattery
To be eligible for
listing, catteries had to:
-
at least meet the
requirements of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH)
Model Licence Conditions & Guidance for Cat Boarding Establishments
1995
-
be constructed and
managed to FAB standards (as laid out in the FAB Standard for
Construction and Management of Boarding Catteries and the FAB
Boarding Cattery Manual)
-
have knowledge and
practical application of good management standards (as outlined in
the FAB Boarding Cattery Manual)
-
be members of FAB
